Where is the clinic located?

We are located in Bridge House, a big blue building at the end of the old bridge in Wadebridge, on the roundabout that turns either towards Rock or Bodmin.

Where can I park?

There is free parking for one hour opposite the clinic in the layby in front of the Julian Foye furniture shop. You will also find street parking alongside Egloshayle Park, or in nearby streets or alternatively you can park in a number of paid car parks in Wadebridge town centre.

Question 3

Do I need to come early for my appointment?

Accepted Answer

It is advisable to come 5 or 10 minutes early for your appointment, particularly for your initial assessment, and please make sure you complete the online forms before you attend to allow more time with your therapist.

How can I pay?

We currently accept contactless card and BACS payments. We can also arrange for direct settlement with some private insurance companies and legal firms.

Can I fund my treatment through my insurance company policy?

Our Physiotherapists are registered with all major health insurance companies eg. Bupa, AXAPPP, AVIVA, Standard Life, Vitality etc.   Remedial massage treatments may be covered by Health Sheild and some other insurance companies.

What is the difference between physiotherapy and remedial massage?

Both physiotherpay and remedial massage include a physical assessment, body work, exercise rehabilitation, biomechanical and/or postural advice and lifestyle advice which can include a home exercise and care programme. If furthur investigations or treatment is required we can refer on to other suitable health professionals.    Physiotherapy is a conventional medical treatment which can include specialised anatomical, postural and biomechanical assessments, joint re-alignments, soft tissue release techniques and electrotherapy e.g ultrasound. Physiotherapy can support the body to heal but also looks at lifestyle factors that have led to the condition that is presenting and therefore supporting the prevention of the issue in the longer term.    Remedial Massage is a complementary treatment which includes flowing, gentle but purposeful massage strokes and soft tissue release techniques to support lengthening, loosening and relaxation of the soft tissues. It is useful for the rehabilitation of joint and muscular issues, general stress reduction and relaxation, settling the nervous system and increasing the cardiovascular and lymphatic flow. Remedial massage can be an all round support for the body and the person and works well as a regular maintennance programme to prevent as well as support injury recovery and postural dysfunction.

What do I need to wear?

It is advisable to wear loose comfortable clothing. We do have shorts available if required for modesty while the assessment is taking place. You will be fully towelled throughout the treatment as required, although your therapist may need to expose parts of the body for assessment and treatment to be peformed effectively.

Question 8

Do I need to be refered by my GP or consultant?

You do not require a referral from your GP or consultant to book a consultation with us as a private paying client. If you are claiming the cost of Physiotherapy treatment through a private insurance company then your insurance company may require a GP referral to honour the claim.

What can I expect upon my first visit?

Our friendly reception staff will welcome and register you at the clinic which includes asking you to complete some paperwork and answering any questions you may have. You will then be guided to sit in our comfortable modern reception area while you wait for your therapist to come and collect you.   We offer a variety of treatments at the clinic, but generally consultations will include an initial interview, a physical assessment, treatment and advice on self-care including exercises and lifestyle modifications to continue between sessions.

What is your clinic policy about the coronavirus?

As a health clinic we need to follow Public Health England and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy COVID-19 infection control measures including social distancing, masks and PPE.
 We can see you for a face-to-face session provided you meet the following criteria:
You or anyone in your household does not currently have Covid-19, or have had symptoms in the last 10 days suggestive of Covid-19 (including fever, cough, difficulty breathing, change in sense of taste or smell).

You are not currently awaiting the outcome of a Covid-19 test.

You have not been in contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with or has symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 10 days.

If you do not meet these criteria then we will offer you an online video consultation and we cannot see you face-to-face.
 We conduct a risk assessment before the first appointment which we ask you to sign.
